Contact Your Elected Officials
The Choose Life license plate must be approved by the Texas Legislature. We came close to passing legislation to create the plate during the 81st Regular Session that concluded June 1, 2009. Unfortunately, the bill died on the last day of session along with another bill to which it was amended, for conflicts totally unrelated to the Choose Life plate.
The next opportunity to pass the Choose Life license plate will be the 82nd Regular Session, which convenes in January 2011. Your input now can make a difference! Often only a few letters, emails, or phone calls can propel a bill to victory. Here is everything you need to know to contact the right elected officials and what message to send to them:

Dear ______________________,
Please support legislation to create a Choose Life specialty license plate in Texas.
The Choose Life license plate will send a wonderful message that promotes compassionate alternatives to abortion, including adoption, and it would raise funds to help pregnant women experiencing crisis pregnancies.
Choose Life license plates have been very successful in raising money to promote adoption in many other states, including Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Nineteen states already have a Choose Life license plate, and many more are working on getting it. More than 400,000 plates have been sold or renewed, raising millions of dollars to help pregnant moms.
I ask that you commit to seeing that the Choose Life license plate becomes a reality in Texas.
Sincerely,
